DESCRIPTION:Trip Update \nWe are now taking our Drive-it-Day run from Kelso Square to visit the Belford Car Show in the late morning\, followed by afternoon tea in Wooler\, having confirmed a booking with the Canny Owl Restaurant & Bar. \nWe will travel the back roads from Kelso via Mindrummill\, Millfield\, Kimmerston\, Lowick\, Fenwick\, and Detchant to arrive at the Belford Car Show around midday. After a couple of hours looking round the show we will leave Belford to go to Wooler and the Canny Owl where I have estimated our arrival between 2.30pm and 3.00pm ready for afternoon teas. Departure from Wooler will be at your own time and to make your own way home. DESCRIPTION:National Drive It Day is the date where all classic car owners are encouraged to take their vehicles out onto the roads promoted by the FBHVC. \nThis year the BVAC members will enjoy a run from Milestone Garden Centre\, Newtown St. Boswells through the Border’s countryside of the Ale\, Ettrick\, Yarrow and Tweed valleys to the destination of The Barony Castle Hotel\, Eddlestone where they can enjoy afternoon tea in the private dining room of the hotel. There is space for a maximum of 60 people for the afternoon tea and it will cost £25.00 per person payable to the Club bank account. \nDONT DELAY IN BOOKING AS THE HOTEL REQUIRES CONFIRMED NUMBERS BY 14TH APRIL. \nYou don’t have to book afternoon tea to enjoy the drive! \nAll members are welcome to join in the drive – which is free to participate\, and everyone will receive a tulip map book for directions of the route and a display plaque for their car. The Barony Castle has within their grounds the attraction of the famous stone map of Scotland created by Polish soldiers billeted in the original house\, so there’s another reason for coming along. \nArrive at Milestone as early as you want in order to get coffee or breakfast and catch up with the other members. The first car on the run will be sent off at approximately 11:30 and even on a gentle and unhurried drive should take about 2 hours for the 61 mile distance of the route. DESCRIPTION:A Drive it Day Run with lunch for BVAC Club Members. This will be a run on Sunday 23rd April from Milestone Garden Centre\, Newtown St. Boswells to Berwick on Tweed\, with lunch close to Cocklawburn beach.\nThe route will include six bridges on the river Tweed though probably not the one illustrated as rebuilding works continue on the Union Chain Bridge and it is not now due to open until just after our Run. Lunch is available for the first 40 persons to register for the event. DESCRIPTION:] \nFOR CLUB MEMBERS AND INVITED GUESTS –  \nWhatever you drive – Club members will want to be out in force for our 50th Anniversary Celebration Run recreating the Northern section of the historic route used 50 years ago. Immediately following this run the group of Scottish enthusiasts who had taken part formed BVAC\, a Club that has thrived ever since. \nWe plan to start in Wooler and drive into Scotland and thence to Kelso where there will be a stop and an official greeting by the Town Provost in the Market Square and a stop for lunch. Later we drive on to Mellerstain House for another brief stop to commemorate the many years of shows held there by the Club. Finally on to Thirlestane Castle to bring us right up to date for a photoshoot to finish and looking forward to the BVAC Classic that will be just two weeks away. \nYou may wish to add some form of embellishment to your car in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. \nCONFIRMED FINAL ARRANGEMENTS – \nGather from 10.15am in car park of The Tankerville Arms Hotel\, Wooler. (Welcome Tea/coffee and a bun)\nFirst Drive-Offs from 11am.\nGathering of cars in Sainsbury’s car park on outskirts of Kelso on arrival.\nProcessional drive-in to Kelso Market Place to arrive 12.30pm.\nPark up for lunch break (own arrangements) and viewing of cars.\n2.00pm Drive-Off from Kelso following original route to Mellerstain House.\nBrief stop for photographs\, then drive on to –\nThirlestane Castle for parking up\, photoshoot etc; followed by\nBring your Own picnic and joining in any activities that the Castle are running on the day.\nEND OF RUN. \nPLEASE NOTE: There will be a CHARGE of £5 per person taking part\, payable at the Tankerville Arms Hotel on arrival on the day. DESCRIPTION:Time for a drive. Come and join us for a  gentle 60 mile drive through the Central / Eastern Borders (the west is largely bikes only today). A round trip starting and finishing at Thirlestane Castle to be undertaken at your own pace and in whatever vehicle you want to use.
