DESCRIPTION:National Drive It Day is the date where all classic car owners are encouraged to take their vehicles out onto the roads promoted by the FBHVC. \nThis year the BVAC members will enjoy a run from Milestone Garden Centre\, Newtown St. Boswells through the Border’s countryside of the Ale\, Ettrick\, Yarrow and Tweed valleys to the destination of The Barony Castle Hotel\, Eddlestone where they can enjoy afternoon tea in the private dining room of the hotel. There is space for a maximum of 60 people for the afternoon tea and it will cost £25.00 per person payable to the Club bank account. \nDONT DELAY IN BOOKING AS THE HOTEL REQUIRES CONFIRMED NUMBERS BY 14TH APRIL. \nYou don’t have to book afternoon tea to enjoy the drive! \nAll members are welcome to join in the drive – which is free to participate\, and everyone will receive a tulip map book for directions of the route and a display plaque for their car. The Barony Castle has within their grounds the attraction of the famous stone map of Scotland created by Polish soldiers billeted in the original house\, so there’s another reason for coming along. \nArrive at Milestone as early as you want in order to get coffee or breakfast and catch up with the other members. The first car on the run will be sent off at approximately 11:30 and even on a gentle and unhurried drive should take about 2 hours for the 61 mile distance of the route. SUMMARY:NVTC Brunton
DESCRIPTION:Northumberland Vintage Tractor Club – NVTC Brunton 20th October 2024\nClosing date for online entry forms is 15th September 2024\nOn tarmac at old Brunton Airfield\, Northumberland. \n\nThis is a well attended classic car show which is on the Sunday of this 2 day event. Be warned that given the time of year it can be weather dependant and when held it can be pretty blustery on the airfield so have appropriate clothing available. \nIt all started in the early 1970s. A small group of local farmers were sitting in the pub talking about old tractors and farming machinery that they had used in the past and how different it was to the present day. \nA lot of this old machinery at the end of its life\, was just left in the back of the barn or out of the way in the dark depths of the farm yard. It was decided after several more pints to dig out the old gear and restore it back to working order\, so\, over the next few months and when time permitted\, the tyres were pumped up and the old machines were brought out of retirement. \nThe use of a local field was obtained\, and the date set for what they all thought would be just a few people playing on their old tractors and machinery. However\, somehow word got out\, and quite a few people turned up to watch the events of the day. \nIt was around this time that the vintage movement\, as we know it today\, was starting to get off the ground\, and it was decided to hold a rally of our own and the Northumberland Vintage Tractor Club was born. It has grown over the years to become the success it is today. \nThis is an old favourite show with BVAC members. The route will be carefully described and your task will be to gather information and answer questions about things that you pass. DESCRIPTION:There will be a Run for Club members and guests on National Drive it Day – Sunday 21st April\, 2024. \nDrive it – Eat it Day – Sunday 21st April 2024 \nAfternoon Tea at Paxton House. \nStart : Milestone Garden Centre 11.15am for 11.45am departure. Run approximately 54 miles – scenic back roads with panoramas of Borders scenery (weather permitting). Includes a crossing of the river Tweed by the recently restored Chain Link Bridge. \nFinish : Paxton House – park up in front of house for photographs. Stroll the grounds if you have time in hand. Afternoon Tea served promptly at 2:00pm\, gluten free and vegetarian options available. \nCost – £20 per person for Tea – a £10 per person deposit is required in advance with your booking. DESCRIPTION:Join fellow members at a dining-out evening in March. We have arranged a meal at the Shanghai Banquet in Tweedbank for Wednesday\, 20th March at 6.30pm. The Shanghai Banquet offers buffet style Chinese food of a very wide variety including soups\, main dishes and sweets. There are some limited non-Chinese alternatives. All diners pay the same rate and you are invited to choose what you want and eat as much as you want. Both soft and alcoholic drinks are available \nCost per person is £20:99. SUMMARY:NVTC Brunton
DESCRIPTION:Northumberland Vintage Tractor Club – NVTC Brunton\nClosing date for online entry forms is Friday 15 September 2023\nOn tarmac at old Brunton airfield\, Northumberland. \n\n This is a well attended classic car show which is on the Sunday of this 2 day event. \nIt all started in the early 1970s.  A small group of local farmers were sitting in the pub talking about old tractors and farming machinery that they had used in the past and how different it was to the present day. \n     A lot of this old machinery at the end of its life\, was just left in the back of the barn or out of the way in the dark depths of the farm yard.  It was decided after several more pints to dig out the old gear and restore it back to working order\, so\, over the next few months and when time permitted\, the tyres were pumped up and the old machines were brought out of retirement. \n    The use of a local field was obtained\, and the date set for what they all thought would be just a few people playing on their old tractors and machinery. However\, somehow word got out\, and quite a few people turned up to watch the events of the day. \n   It was around this time that the vintage movement\, as we know it today\, was starting to get off the ground\, and it was decided to hold a rally of our own and the Northumberland Vintage Tractor Club was born.  It has grown over the years to become the success it is today.\nThis is an old favourite show with BVAC members. SUMMARY:Newhailes Classic Car Show
DESCRIPTION:Newhailes Classic Car Show\n\n\n\nClosing date for entries now confirmed: TUESDAY 20th JUNE – last day for members to submit online entry form. (no entry fee)\nEvent open to the public from 10.00am – 4.00pm\nNewhailes House and Estate\, located on the outskirts of Musselburgh\, is owned by the Scottish National Trust and this Classic Car & Transport Show was first held last year during a pause in the then Covid restrictions. The show was a great success from the BVAC point of view\, attracting almost 30 cars to our club display stand.
