SUMMARY:NVTC Brunton
DESCRIPTION:Northumberland Vintage Tractor Club – NVTC Brunton\nClosing date for online entry forms is Friday 15 September 2023\nOn tarmac at old Brunton airfield\, Northumberland. \n\n This is a well attended classic car show which is on the Sunday of this 2 day event. \nIt all started in the early 1970s. A small group of local farmers were sitting in the pub talking about old tractors and farming machinery that they had used in the past and how different it was to the present day. \n A lot of this old machinery at the end of its life\, was just left in the back of the barn or out of the way in the dark depths of the farm yard. It was decided after several more pints to dig out the old gear and restore it back to working order\, so\, over the next few months and when time permitted\, the tyres were pumped up and the old machines were brought out of retirement. \n The use of a local field was obtained\, and the date set for what they all thought would be just a few people playing on their old tractors and machinery. However\, somehow word got out\, and quite a few people turned up to watch the events of the day. \n It was around this time that the vintage movement\, as we know it today\, was starting to get off the ground\, and it was decided to hold a rally of our own and the Northumberland Vintage Tractor Club was born. It has grown over the years to become the success it is today.\nThis is an old favourite show with BVAC members. This Vintage Tractor Club Event now has a Vintage Auction (Saturday) Trade Stands\, Car Boot Sale\, Steam Engines\, and on the Sunday there are displays of Vintage and Classic Cars\, Commercial Vehicles\, Motor Bikes\, Tractors & Farm Machinery \n\n \n \n\n \n \n\n  \n\nPlease enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form. This Entry Form is for BVAC Members attending the NVTC BruntonHow to use this form: Please complete the form below and then click on submit at the bottom to send in your entry. \n\nShow Stand Co-ordinator: \nDennis Fortune \nEdgewater\n146 Roxburgh Street\nKelso\nTD5 7DY\n\nYour DetailsNB: All vehicles driven in the event must be roadworthy with valid insurance\, road tax and\, where appropriate\, MOT.BVAC MEMBERSHIP *Please enter your BVAC Membership NumberYour Name *FirstLastAddress *Address Line 1Address Line 2CityState / Province / RegionPostal CodeEmail *Telephone *Your VehicleMake *ModelYear *Reg. Have a light lunch and a drink whilst chatting with fellow members then leave on an easy route with some fine scenic elements to drive to Bonchester Bridge Care Home for a 2.00pm visit. Park up to display cars and chat with residents and staff who never get the chance to visit a Classic Car Show. Come and help to put a smile on lots of faces. \nAfter the visit – probably about an hour – make your own way home by whatever route suits you best. \nRoute instructions from Milestone will be provided though the intention is to travel fairly close together – hence the limited number of places available. \nContact Chris Biggs to express interest and book a place. \nchrisjbiggs@btinternet.com

SUMMARY:August Share a Ride
DESCRIPTION:Our Milestone Breakfast Meets always attract a good variety of member’s cars but have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a short ride in one of your favourites? \nOn Sunday 14th August we will meet as usual and are encouraging members to offer each other short rides in their cars. There are a number of short trips available (5 miles+) and you may choose your own. If you don’t know the area well we will have some suggestions. Members are free to offer as many reciprocal rides as they wish or none at all if they prefer. There is no compulsory element to this and you are welcome to enjoy your usual style of Milestone visit. \nSome members may like to extend their stay over lunchtime as Milestone has facilities. Alternatively if you run out of time on the day you can arrange to meet up on another occasion. \nTHIS ACTIVITY IS ALL ABOUT HAVING FUN. A chance to show other members why you love your particular automobile and expand your knowledge of others. \nCome along\, join in\, have fun \nPlease Note: The weather is looking good! If this idea proves popular we will probably offer it again at our SEPTEMBER meet.

The valley gardens present ever changing vistas of great variety as you walk and contrast with the woodland walks and sculpture trail.\nAt the time of our visit\, if we are lucky\, there will be swathes of Meconopsis\, the Himalayan blue poppy. The roads around the area offer a fine drive. We hope that you will come in your vintage or Classic auto but if necessary\, come in something more modern. \nTo book places please email me at chrisjbiggs@btinternet.com with number and names of those attending.
