BVAC Classic at Thirlestane - Sunday 7th June 2020

The 48th annual show is on Sunday 7th June 2020.  As always  the entries will be the stars! Pride of place will be given to Veteran and Vintage entries, but all vehicles built before 31st December 1989 are invited  to display in the concours classes. Interesting vehicles of any age are welcome in Classes O, Y,  A & K and on all club stands.

INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUAL ENTRANTS    

AWARDS and TROPHIES - All individual entries will be considered for the following:   

PRINCIPAL AWARDS  

THE BREWIN DOLPHIN TROPHY for BEST IN SHOW  

THE BVAC TROPHY for the BEST MASTERCLASS VEHICLE - all class winners from 2018 and 2019 are judged in the BVAC MASTERCLASS rather than the chronological classes below.

1 Veteran Motor Cars manufactured up to 31.12.1918  

2 Vintage Motor Cars manufactured between 1.1.19 19 and 31.12.30  

3 Post Vintage Motor Cars manufactured between 1.1.31 and 31.12.39  

4 Classic Cars manufactured between 1.1.40 and 31.12.59 - The 40.s & ‘50s  

5a Classic Cars manufactured between 1.1.60 and 31.12.69 - The ‘60s  

5b Classic Cars manufactured between 1.1.70 and 31.12.79 - The ‘70s  

6 Emerging Classics manufactured between1.1.80 and 31.12.89 - the ‘80s  

 

Motor Cycles: 

7 Veteran Motor Cycles manufactured up to 31.12.18  

8 Vintage Motor Cycles manufactured between 1.1.19 and 31.12.30  

9 Post-vintage Motor Cycles manufactured between 1.1.31 and 31.12.39 

10 Motor Cycles manufactured between 1.1.40 and 31.12.64  

11 Motor Cycles manufactured between 1.1.65 and 31.12.89  

 

Commercial, Military and Agricultural Vehicles:  

12 Light Commercial Vehicles up to 3.5T, manufactured up to 31.12.89  

13 Heavy Commercial Vehicles over 3.5T, manufactured up to 31.12.89   

14 Agricultural Exhibits manufactured up to 31.12.89  

15 Military Vehicles manufactured up to 31.12.89  

 

Entries will be accepted in the following classes without age restriction: 

O Interesting Vehicles - Entries of any age falling outside the above categories but being of sufficient interest and quality to enhance the event.  

Y Classic Youth Young Enthusiasts  

K Kit Cars and Replicas  

A American - any vehicle manufactured in the U.S.A.

THE DAVID TRUEMAN TROPHY for the Best Amateur Restoration by a BVAC Member   (photographic record of restoration recommended)   

THE LONG-HAUL AWARD for the entry driven FURTHEST to the Event   

TROPHY for the BEST COMBINATION of VEHICLE and PERIOD DRESS  

THE JOHN WHITE TROPHY for the BEST SPORTS CAR  

THE B.V.A.C. TROPHY for the BEST CAR owned by a BVAC MEMBER   

THE CHAIRMAN’S CUP awarded for SERVICES to BVAC   

THE CAPTAIN’S CUP - the “Spirit of the Rally” award

The BVAC Ltd reserve the right to decline any application, without explanation or appeal.

SIGNING ON  All Individual entrants should sign on at the BVAC tent on arrival, so the organisers can log your attendance (or no-show!).   All will receive a commemorative gift and a programme.     

CAMPING & CARAVANNING    Exhibitors, including those with classic campervans, are welcome to  stay overnight in our designated camping area, but not in the showfield arena . The only exceptions, for security reasons,  are outside traders and military display personnel. There is a charge of £10 per night for vans and caravans or £5 per night for tents, collected on site. No need to book or pre-pay.   NB, facilities are limited to portable toilets and a water standpipe.
