BVAC Classic at Thirlestane - Sunday 2nd June 2019

Entries have now closed for the 47th BVAC Classic at Thirlestane.  Any enquiries about entries already submitted should be emailed to entries@bvac.org.uk

The 47th annual show is on Sunday 2nd June 2019.  As always  the entries will be the stars! Pride of place will be given to Veteran and Vintage entries but all classics built before 31st December 1989 are welcome in the concours classes, while Classes O, Y A and K admit interesting vehicles of any age.  On their 60th anniversary, classic Minis will be accepted up to October 2000. (Minis please enter early as space in your special display area will be allocated on a first come, first served basis).

If you are the proud owner of a Classic Mini, Jaguar Mk2, Triumph Herald or Ford Capri,this year is a special one   for you! These cars will be grouped together in anniversary displays and awards made to the best of each type. 

Minis - 60 years

Jaguar MK.2's - 60 years

Triumph Heralds - 60 years

Ford Capris - 50 years

 

CONCOURS CLASSES  - The Judges will award Trophies as follows:  

THE BREWIN DOLPHIN TROPHY for BEST IN SHOW   

THE BVAC TROPHY for the BEST MASTERCLASS VEHICLE  

(All class winners from 2017 and 2018 are judged in the BVAC MASTERCLASS   rather than the chronological classes below):

Motor Cars  

  • Class 1 -  Veteran Motor Cars manufactured up to 31/12/1918
  • Class 2 - Vintage Motor Cars manufactured between 1/1/1919 and 31/12/1930
  • Class 3 - Post-vintage Motor Cars manufactured between 1/1/31 and 31/12/1939
  • Class 4 - Classic Cars manufactured between 1/1/40 and 31/12/1959 - the '40's & '50's
  • Class 5a - Classic Cars manufactured between 1/1/60 and 31/12/1969 - the '60's
  • Class 5b - Classic Cars manufactured between 1/1/1970 and 31/12/1979 - the '70's
  • Class 6 - Emerging Classic Cars manufactured between 1/1/1980 and 31/12/1989 - the '80's

Motor Cycles  

  • Class 7 - Veteran Motor Cycles manufactured up to 31/12/1918
  • Class 8 - Vintage Motor Cycles manufactured between 1/1/1919 and 31/12/30
  • Class 9 - Post-vintage Motor Cycles manufactured between 1/1/1931 and 31/12/1939
  • Class 10 - Motor Cycles manufactured between 1/1/1940 and 31/12/1964
  • Class 11 - Motor Cycles manufactured between 1/1/1965 and 31/12/1989

Commercial, Military and Agricultural Vehicles  

  • Class 12 - Light Commercial vehicles up to 3.5T, manufactured up to 31/12/1989
  • Class 13 - Heavy Commercial vehicles over 3.5T, manufactured up to 31/12/1989
  • Class 14 - Agricultural Exhibits
  • Class 15 - Military vehicles manufactured up to 31/12/1989

Entries will be accepted in the following classes without age restriction:

Class O - Interesting Vehicles - interesting vehicles falling outside the above categories and considered by the committee to be of sufficient  interest to warrant inclusion.

Class Y - Classic Youth - Young enthusiasts.

Class K - Kit cars and Replicas.

Class A - American - all vehicles originating in the U.S.A.

Class MINI  - Best in the special display of Classic Minis Class JMk.2 - Best in the special display of Jaguar Mk.2 Saloons Class HER - Best in the special display of Triumph Heralds.

Class CAP - Best in the special display of Ford Capris.

 

SPECIAL AWARDS AND TROPHIES 

THE DAVID TRUEMAN TROPHY for the Best Amateur Restoration by a  BVAC Member (photographic record of restoration recommended)

THE LONG-HAUL AWARD for the entry driven FURTHEST to the Event  

TROPHY for BEST EXHIBIT in the AGRICULTURAL DISPLAY 

TROPHY for the BEST DISPLAY by a CLUB  

TROPHY for the BEST COMBINATION of VEHICLE and PERIOD DRESS  

THE JOHN WHITE TROPHY for the BEST SPORTS CAR  

THE B.V.A.C. TROPHY for the BEST CAR owned by a BVAC MEMBER  

THE CHAIRMAN'S CUP awarded for SERVICES to BVAC  

THE CAPTAIN’S CUP - the “Spirit of the Rally” award  

 

A COMMEMORATIVE GIFT will be awarded to each entrant, this should be claimed from the BVAC desk when signing-on.  Each entrant will also receive a FREE PROGRAMME when signing on.

 

The BVAC Ltd reserve the right to decline any application, without explanation or appeal.

 

CAMPING & CARAVANNING - Exhibitors, including those with  classic campervans, are welcome to stay overnight in our designated camping area, but not in the display areas. The only exceptions, for security reasons, are outside traders and military display personnel. There  is a charge of £10 per night for vans and caravans or £5 per night for tents,  collected on site. No need to book or pre-pay. Facilities are limited to  portable toilets.
