We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Thirlestane Castle this Sunday for the 2024 BVAC Classic.
Below is some information to help you plan your visit.
Tickets
Tickets can be purchased on the gate for £15. Under 16’s accompanied by an adult, gain free access.
If you have already booked your ticket online, you will have received your ticket via email. If you can’t see it in your inbox, please search your junk / spam boxes. Your ticket will grant you access for the day of the event and will be scanned at the admission gate. You can either print your ticket off, or simply present the e-ticket on your phone for scanning at the gate. If presenting on your phone, we advise you download your tickets before arriving at the venue (in case of slow connectivity at the gate).
The gates to the event will open at 11am and close at 5pm.
Payment methods
Due to the high volumes of show visitors, mobile phone network connectivity can be slow. With this in mind, while card payment options will be available throughout the show, we highly recommend bringing cash on the day to enable you to make trouble free payments.
Dogs
A reminder that well behaved dogs (on their leads) are permitted to attend the event.
Venue Accessibility
Please note, while we will have a blue badge holder car park, as close to the show entrance as possible, those with mobility challenges should be aware that the event takes place predominantly on grass, which is undulating and bumpy at points around the show ground. As such, if relevant, all terrain wheel chairs, or mobility scooters would be recommended.
Travelling to the BVAC Classic
The postcode is TD2 6RU. However, please follow signage rather than satnav directions on approach to the venue.
If you are travelling from the North on the A68, you will be directed onto the A697 at the Carfraemill roundabout, and then onto the B6362 to the public entrance (unless you are a blue badge holder, in which case you will be directed down the A68).
If you are travelling from the south, on the A68, signage will be in place as you enter the south end of Lauder, directing you right onto the B6362 towards the public entrance.
If you require access to the Blue badge holders car park, look out for directional signage on approach to the venue gates and follow directions for ‘Blue Badge Holders’.
Please use the event car parks and do not park in Lauder. All parking at our event is free.
Access from Lauder on foot
If you are a Lauder resident accessing the event on foot, there is a walk-in entrance on Castle Wynd which is located directly at the back of the Lauder Public Hall, The Avenue, TD2 6TD.
Please note that this will be the only local walk-in entrance to the event.

Bits & Bobs
A few of our suggested items that you may leave in the house that you wished you had remembered to bring with you…
– Sunscreen / Sun Hat – the weather is looking good for Sunday!
– Decent footwear – it’s a grassy field and will be a little wet in places following the rainfall we’ve had in recent weeks.
– Foldable camping seat / stool
– Picnic blanket
We look forward to welcoming you this weekend and hope you enjoy a wonderful visit to Thirlestane Castle.
